Deanna Rose Farmstead

This morning was beautiful and Johanna seemed ready to do something so I decided to take her to the Deanna Rose Farmstead in Overland Park. We have never been there before but all of my friends with kiddos talk about how awesome it is. Plus, it is FREE during the week.
When we first got there I couldn't believe how big it was. I thought it would be really small but it was very good sized and incredibly impressive.
They had about 5 different playgrounds.
A duck pond and ample seating and swings.
Cows and even play barns kids could climb up and take a fun slide down from the barn loft!
This place was big! I thought it was way more fun than even the Kansas City Zoo. TONS of interactivity for the kiddos.
Johanna got up close and personal with some cute little baby goats. We had to leave though when she tried to pick up some goat poo.
They had a children's garden sponsored by Kansas State. Beautiful!

"Hi Mommy!"
Too cute!
They even had a fishing pond where kids could rent poles and catch bluegills with corn bait.
Hey, she got one!
Johanna drove her first tractor - actually Mommy pushed her around the tractor track. We beat all the other kids.
We took a shady break to eat a Popsicle under the shade tree. I had to break off little pieces with my teeth and give them to her. I felt like a Mommy bird.
She loved the chickens until one of them pecked her a little bit.

I would have to say that the cows were her favorite. Here she is telling a little boy, "Cow! Cow!"

We had SUCH a fun time and I bet we go back many more times this summer. Maybe if we have any visitors they can come too!

Making Kujoe's Bed My Own!

Move over Kujoe - this is my new lounging spot. I want to get all hairy and stinky like you.

First just Johanna was on Kujoe's bed, but then jealous ole Kujoekins had to get in on the action. "Hey little girl, this is MY bed. Ruff."

Pool Time Fun!

Yesterday I filled up a little pool Grandma Jane bought last year for $1 at Wal-Mart (great deal!). At first I plugged the hose into it to activate the sprinkler feature, but wasn't thinking. When I turned on the hose, Johanna was standing over the pool and the sprinkler starting spraying all over her. Needless to say, she stood there crying and stomping her feet while water sprayed all over her. I had to pick her up and move her. She was a little wary of the pool after that but I did get her to stand in it with me after the water had warmed up a bit.
Today I filled it up again - but this time with dish detergent so we had a pool full of bubbles to play with! Fun!!!

She also likes to play with her bubble wands and used them to splash around in the pool. Today she picked up bubble balls and had me blow them everywhere. In this picture she is trying to see if Kujoe can blow some bubbles.
She has the idea down - she will even blow into the wand but I have yet to see her produce a bubble. Oh well!
Everyday we go outside and Johanna pushes her shopping cart up and down the block. She loves it. She's my little cutie baby. Look at those cute, pudgy legs.
This is my favorite picture from the whole bunch. It looks beautiful blown up really big. Click on it, I dare you.

That is not chocolate on her face

It is dirt. That crazyhead baby ate some dirt while I wasn't looking.

But then she rode Kujoe around the house and was happy. Poor Kujoe (this was all daddy's idea.)
