Adventures of Avery and Johanna Day 3

OK - I need to get up to date with Johanna's and Avery's Big adventures.

On day three we did a lot of stuff just in the a.m. alone.

We went to story time at the library. Fun!

Then we went down to Crown Center to see the Clifford exhibit. Wow - that was packed.
Then we went to the "Choo Choo" restaurant (Fritz's) where trains bring out your delicious hamburgers and shakes.

Then...we went outside and across the street to play in the Crown Center fountain. This thing is so much fun. Avery was fearless and was instantly running through the fountains and completely drenched with water. Johanna on the other hand, was very tentative and got mad when Avery tried to take her hand to lead her into the water.

Enjoy these videos of the water time fun.

Johanna's New Bench!

I finally finished Johanna's bench! Yay! I am so happy how it turned out and am relieved to have it finished. I also rearranged her room today - it looks pretty cute!

Now she has a place...
To read.
To be silly.
To throw a fit.
And to nap.
Hopefully, a fun place to play!

Adventures Day Two

Wednesday was a fun but SUPER HOT day! We went to Deanna Rose Farmstead for about an hour and a half. Johanna and Avery had a blast and loved seeing all of the animals. You could tell that the heat was getting to them a little, but there were moments to cool off with a tiny splash pool and areas of lush shade.

We then we home for some lunch and they both took LONG naps. Renee and I were able to relax and tap little naps, too.

Then when they woke we went over to the spray park at Loose Park. Unfortunately it was closed that day, but there was a little trickle of water - enough to entertain these two!

After the spray park we went on a long jog in the heat - there was a nice breeze so I didn't completely melt into a puddle of the trail. Renee thought it would be fun to sprint up some of the hills. She is one crazy lady, that's for sure.

Here are some fun moments from the spray park:

Did you notice that little "kick" at the end? Too funny,

The Adventures of Avery and Johanna

Renee and Avery came to Kansas City the past few days and boy did we all have SO MUCH FUN! Johanna and Avery were the best of friends and had more good moments than bad this time - a step forward in their "love-hate" relationship.

The first night at dinner, they laughed for about 15 minutes straight. I am surprised they were able to get any food down into their tummies.

Johanna remembered Avery and even this afternoon after she woke from her nap, she said "Av-ry?" She was sad to learn that her little bestie had already left. In fact, she cried a few tears.

Here is a video from our first night:

More of the adventures of Avery and Johanna to come!
