Three Months!

Johanna's New Toy Bee

Buzz...she really likes the Bee from Great Grandma Helen.

Super Baby!

We were at Kara and Kevin's house on Saturday with the gang, and Jess was playing with Johanna. We were all surprised to see Johanna hold her whole body up as Jess "flew" her around like Super Baby.

Note all the kids at our get-together. Things sure have changed!

I (heart) my rings

12 Weeks

Johanna is 12 weeks and almost 3 months. She continues to be the coolest and most loving baby ever. She loves to read books and her favorite so far is Busy Bee. She smiles big when we get it and show it to her and she loves to grab at it and even tries to put the pages in her mouth.

She also loves to play with toys hanging from her carseat. He next big milestone will be to roll over from her back to her tummy or vice versa. We play a little game on the floor where I help her roll over. She doesn't like it too much yet.

She is funny - the other night I laid her in her crib facing south and in the morning she was facing north! Did she do a baby flip at night, or what? Maybe I was really tired at 3:30 a.m. and laid her the opposite way of what I thought, but I'm pretty sure she must have rooted around to the otherside of the crib. Funny baby!

She is definitely going through her 3 month growth spurt because she has been eating quite a bit and pretty sleepy.

She is also starting to wear some of her 3-6 month clothes. She is always dressed very nicely. :)

Pretty in Pink

I thought these pictures were too cute to not share. I also think they look a lot like me in my baby pictures.

Splish Splash Baby

Baby Bubbles and Baby Bunting

Yesterday was a fun day. Johanna had a naked baby photo shoot, took a bath, and also got bundled up in her bunting for a walk (we didn't end up going on a walk because it was too cold once we got outside).
I thought Vince and Johanna's profiles were very similar when I took this picture.

This is the bunting Kara and I sewed when we were both pregnant.

10 Weeks

Johanna is 10 weeks old and this is the last week of my maternity leave. She has really blossomed the past few weeks and makes me laugh and smile at least 100 times a day.

This has been a busy week because Vince and I are working to get our house ready to put on the market, but Miss Johanna doesn't like to be ignored for very long so it leaves me with less time to do things. That's OK though, because I want to enjoy every minute of maternity leave before I start my new job next week. I am very excited to start my new job and I feel confident we found a great child care provider so I do not have the anxiety I thought I might have if I were returning to work full time.

She got her shots last week - now that was stressful. I started crying a little because I had never seen her so visibly upset and in pain. She slept the whole day and seemed a little more fussy for a few days.

We are also trying to get her bedtime to be around 8:30 and that has been a challenge because she likes to go to bed late and sleep in a little later. The sleeping in later is fine with me but next week I will have to leave for work at 6:50 a.m. Next week will be a little crazy.

Anyhow, here two month check up was:

Weight: 11.1 lbs / 50% percentile
Length: 21 1/2 inches, 25% percentile
Head: 15 cm, 25% percentile

She is really more vocal and will coo and make funny noises like you are having a conversation. She is also laughing as you will see in this video. It is such a fun time and I want to enjoy every minute!
