Countryside Easter Egg Hunt

Happy Easter to all! We had a super fun weekend that we were able to document with lots of pictures and video.

Our first activity for the weekend was the Countryside Easter Egg Hunt at St. Teresa's. It is a lot of fun - and they serve coffee. Yes!

Johanna was really excited to hunt Easter eggs, despite her fear of the Easter Bunny.
And she's off....she walked past about 50 eggs and headed over to the other side of the grassy knoll to start her collecting. She was really excited when one egg broke open and she was assured that there was candy inside! After that she put a little fire into it.

"There are candies in here!"

This is fun!
Let's try this way.

Uh oh, the Easter Bunny is lurking behind. She has yet to spot it.
Oh no! It's the Easter Bunny. Mommy protect me. I had to have a little chat with her that that isn't the real Easter Bunny. If she looks closely she will see it is a young girl dressed up in an Easter Bunny costume. Then she eased up a little and was less frightened. We even got her to go over to the "Easter Bunny" to say hello.

A hug was a little much, even though she tried.

You can see that she filled up her basket almost to the brim! Candies!

Time to sample the goods. Yummy!

Hey mommy, don't get too close, these are MINES!
Back at home we had a little photo session. Here is some photo journalism for you by Vince.
Mommy and Johanna pose for Daddy.

Mommy spots Johanna's Rolo - one of my favorites, and goes in for the steal.
"Hey Mommy. That's MINES!"

The kid plucks the candy out of my mouth. She loves her candies. In fact, I was shocked to see so many wrappers in her bucket. She got right to business.

Posing with Daddy - see her chocolate mouth?
Here's a close-up. :)
Yummy!

And here is what happens when you take that bucket of candy away. A mini-meltdown that could be heard throughout the neighborhood. Stay tuned for more fun!
